Delo Group studying prospects for creating international logistics hubs - senior manager

MOSCOW. Nov 22 (Interfax) - The Delo Group is exploring the prospects of establishing its own hubs abroad, Delo Management Company First Deputy General Director for Strategy and Development Alexander Yodchin said during a briefing at the Russian Transport 2024 forum.

The Delo Group is considering locations in several countries, Yodchin said. In addition to previously announced plans to create a hub in Sri Lanka, the group is considering Egypt, Tanzania, Malaysia and Vietnam. India and Brazil are also seen as promising countries, although significant imbalances in foreign trade cargo flows exist in these areas.

The group currently does not have any specific plans, project timelines or investment estimates, he said. "We are still evaluating our options, including how best to enter these markets. This could involve selecting a coastal location and building a terminal, forming a partnership or acquiring existing facilities," he said.

The Delo group of companies manages sea container terminals in the Azov-Black Sea, Baltic and Far Eastern basins, a network of railway container terminals, and a fleet of containers and fitting platform railcars. Founder Sergei Shishkarev owns 51% and 49% belongs to the Rosatom state corporation.

Delo Group's transport and logistics business includes intermodal container operator Transcontainer and the multimodal transport operator Ruscon, while the stevedoring business includes the DeloPorts holding and Global Ports, the leading operator of container terminals.
