Hungary's govt looking into effect of latest U.S. sanctions against Russia - foreign minister

BERLIN. Nov 22 (Interfax) - Hungary's government is looking into how the latest U.S. sanctions against Russia could affect Hungary's energy supply, the country's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said.

"Our lawyers are studying the consequences of the U.S. sanctions, and we will consult with the Russian gas supplier if necessary," Szijjarto posted on social media on Thursday.

"We will ensure the energy supply of our country, and we will continue to do so in the future regardless of any external pressure or attempts at interference," Szijjarto said.

The U.S. Treasury Department included more than 50 Russian banks in the sanctions list on Thursday, including Gazprombank , DOM.RF Bank, BCS Bank, and Sinara Investment Bank.

Gazprombank said that all its systems and offices were operating as usual.
