SIBUR's portfolio of carbon units reaches 10.8 mln tonnes of CO2 equivalent, 33% released

BAKU. Nov 21 (Interfax) - SIBUR's portfolio of carbon units is 10.8 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent, Tatyana Romanenkova, Senior Manager for Climate Initiatives and Carbon Regulation Department at the company, said.

"The overall aggregate volume of SIBUR's portfolio today is 10.8 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent, of which we have verified units for 3.3 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent. This includes our international units, the majority, and of course 450,000 tonnes of CO2, verified units in Russia," Romanenkova said during a session of the Russian pavilion at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change COP29.

Romanenkova said that the company is implementing eight diverse climate projects, seven of which are registered in the Russian registry, and one is registered on the international Green digital platform.
