Over 40% of Russians feel positive about AI in healthcare - poll

MOSCOW. Nov 19 (Interfax) - Forty-three percent of Russians believe that the use of artificial intelligence for medical diagnostics and treatment recommendations can help improve patients' health, the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.

The share is the largest among respondents younger than 24 (57%), the pollster said.

Men are more inclined to trust artificial intelligence in healthcare than women -47% and 40%, respectively, it said.

Twelve percent of respondents believe that artificial intelligence will not be useful for patients in medical diagnostics. Respondents aged from 33 to 42 and younger than 24 are the most pessimistic (16% in each group).

Twenty-seven percent of respondents think that artificial intelligence has no effect on the efficiency of treatment or patients' health, and 18% are undecided.

VCIOM polled 1,600 respondents older than 18 on November 11, 2024.
