Russian prosecutor general arrives in Baku for COP29
BAKU. Nov 15 (Interfax) - Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov has arrived in Azerbaijan to attend a high-level plenary session of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), an Interfax correspondent reported.
Krasnov will also hold a series of one-on-one meetings with foreign counterparts during the visit to Baku.
The law enforcement community's attendance at the UN climate summit this year was organized by the Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime jointly with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Interior, the Russian Prosecutor's General Office said.
The aim of the law enforcement community's participation in COP29 is to "highlight the importance of enlarging the potential of law enforcement agencies in fighting crimes that affect the environment," it said.
