Russia can share experience on energy and digital technologies with Peru - Overchuk

MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Russia is ready to share its experience in areas such as energy security and digital technologies, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk told Peru's Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzén Olaya in Lima.

"Overchuk communicated Russia's readiness to share experience with Peruvian partners in the sphere of clean energy development and addressing energy security, and also using digital technologies including in the sphere of tax administration to get people working in the legal economy, " a statement on the Russian government's Telegram channel said.

The talks also focused on developing the bilateral humanitarian cooperation, it said.

Overchuk thanked the hosting side for efficient chairing of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and conducting the summit events to a high standard.

"The deputy prime minister favorably evaluated the Peruvian chairmanship's focus on issues of the economic agenda, including the prospects of forming free trade areas and ensuring sustainable growth," the statement said.

"Given Russia's membership in the EAEU [Eurasian Economic Union], a platform which makes supranational consensus-based decisions to develop foreign trade relations, Overchuk called for a more active dialogue with the Eurasian Economic Commission [EEC] as part of implementing the memorandum of understanding between the EEC and the government of Peru," it said.

Overchuk is leading the Russian delegation to the APEC summit currently taking place in Peru.
