En+ expects to maintain coal shipments from Tuva at this year's level in 2025

IRKUTSK. Nov 14 (Interfax) - En+ Group expects to maintain the amount of coal shipments eastward specified earlier in an agreement with Russian Railways (RZD) for its Tuva Mining Company (TGRK) for 2025, the group's press service said.

It was reported earlier that the amount of coal shipments agreed with RZD for TGRK for 2024 is 400,000 tonnes. En+ said TGRK has already shipped all 400,000 tonnes of coal to customers in Asia.

"Today this is a very difficult problem, the solution to which depends, among other things, on the development of eastern railways and the tough competitive environment in the regions. Our objective for 2025 is to maintain the current agreement and then move toward developing and increasing our export potential through the introduction of a method that will regulate export shipments from regions. The next step will be to increase volumes to 1 million tonnes for export, which will take TGRK to another level of economic efficiency," En+ deputy CEO for the coal business Andrei Davydov was quoted as saying the by press service.

He said the group will also expand its resource potential by developing new fields in the Cheremkhovsky, Tulunsky and Ust-Ilimsky districts of Irkutsk Region, which will make it possible to increase domestic shipments and the export quota for shipments from the Angara region by almost 30% to 1.8 million tonnes.

En+ also recalled that the group and China Energy are working on a project to develop the Zashulanskoye hard coal deposit in Transbaikal, the license to which is owned by joint venture Razrezugol.

"Construction of an industrial road [from the deposit] that will make it possible to annually transport up to 5 million tonnes of high quality product to the Asia-Pacific region market is already starting at the end of this year," the press release said.

TGRK is one of the largest suppliers of coal to customers in Tuva. The company operates the Kaa-Khemsky and Chadansky open-pit coal mines.
