Beijing ready to bolster coordination with Moscow on common security, development issues - Chinese FM
BEIJING. Nov 12 (Interfax) - Beijing stands ready to enhance coordination with Moscow on common security and development issues and to raise the level of strategic mutual trust, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at strategic security consultations with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu.
"We are ready to work with Comrade Shoigu and other Russian counterparts in line with the consensus reached by the heads of the two states in order to strengthen our coordination on common strategic issues related to the interests of both sides' security and development, to constantly raise the level of strategic mutual trust between the two sides and expand the agenda of the two countries' strategic cooperation all the time," Wang said.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Russia, he said.
"President of China Xi Jinping and President of Russia Vladimir Putin have met thrice this year and have reached a whole range of strategic agreements," Wang said, adding that the mechanisms of consultations on strategic security is an important communication platform for the two countries.
