Russian govt to consider possible liberalization of e-visa issuance to foreign tourists visiting Russia's Far East

MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has tasked the government to act jointly with the Interior Ministry and Federal Security Service (FSB) in studying the possibility of simplifying the procedure for the issuance of electronic entry visas to foreign nationals wishing to visit the Far-Eastern Federal District for tourism.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, and FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov have been appointed responsible officials. The corresponding report must be submitted by April 15, 2025.

According to another instruction, Russia's Maritime Board must consider enhancing the prospect of foreign tourist vessels entering seaports in the Far Eastern Federal District. The report must be submitted by April 15, 2025. Russian presidential aide and Maritime Board Chairman Nikolai Patrushev has been appointed responsible.
