Novorossiysk Grain Plant boosts export shipments 6% in 10M to 7.2 mln tonnes

KRASNODAR. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Novorossiysk Grain Plant , part of the United Grain Company (UGC) group and one of the largest deep-sea grain terminals in the Azov-Black Sea basin, shipped 7.178 million tonnes of grain for export in January-October, up 6.4% year-on-year, the company said.

Shipments rose 4% year-on-year in October to 801,147 tonnes.

The plant shipped 838,600 tonnes of grain in August 2024, beating its monthly shipment record. This was the most the plant has shipped since the 803,000 tonnes it handled in October 2020.

Novorossiysk Grain Plant's total storage capacity is 250,000 tonnes, and the depths at the quay wall allow for handling vessels with deadweight of up to 72,000 tonnes. The plant shipped a record 7.9 million tonnes of grain for export in 2023, up 70% from 2022.

UGC owns 51% of Novorossiysk Grain Plant, according to its list of affiliates as of January 2024. Demetra Holding owns 35.36%.
