Omsky Kauchuk switches to Russian adsorbents and catalysts
MOSCOW. Nov 6 (Interfax) - Omsky Kauchuk , part of Titan Group, has shifted production of high-purity propylene to using Russian-made adsorbents and catalysts, the company's press service said.
The domestic solution is more effective than imported analogs, it said.
"Reducing dependence on imported catalysts in our production is one of Titan Group's priorities. We have now transitioned high-purity propylene production to Russian-made adsorbents and catalysts. In addition, Omsky Kauchuk is currently testing new domestically-produced zeolite-type catalysts. When testing is complete, we will make a decision on introducing them in production. This will allow us to achieve independence from imports," Titan Group Deputy CEO Alexei Danilov was quoted as saying.
Titan Group has a number of petrochemical divisions, including Omsky Kauchuk, which produces butadiene-alpha methyl styrene rubbers, propylene, methyl tert-butyl ether, phenol, acetone and isopropyl alcohol; Titan-SM LLC, which produces synthetic plastic lubricants and oils, automobile chemicals and antiseptics based on isopropanol at facilities in the Omsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov and Tula regions and Titan-Polymer LLC, which produces BOPET films in the Pskov region. The group also includes Titan-Agro, which produces pork and compound feed in Omsk.
