Deputy PM Novak not ruling out Russia maintaining oil refining volumes in 2024 at last year's level, allows for decline of 1%-2%

SOCHI. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The incidents at Russian refineries should not substantially affect the volume of oil refining in 2024, and this would be within 1%-2% should a decline occur, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on the sidelines of the 21st meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club

"If there have been any incidents, then they have been local. Everything has been restored. The volume of refining could be 1%-2% lower than last year, though we could even attain last year's level," Novak said.

As reported, drones have repeatedly attacked Russian oil refineries this year. Incidents have occurred at refineries in the Krasnodar Territory, as well as in the Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Rostov, and other regions. The damage has caused a decline in Russia's gasoline production in certain months. The Energy Ministry has said that fuel production is currently stable and that accumulated reserves are at high levels.
