Sunflower prices in Ukraine near all-time high of 25,000-27,000 hryvni per tonne
MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Sunflower prices in Ukraine have come close to their all-time high of 25,000-27,000 hryvni per tonne CPT, Ukrainian media said, citing the APK-Inform information and analytical agency.
"There are already the first small enterprises that have switched from sunflower processing to alternative crops due to high prices, but other oilseeds are not doing very well either," the agency's analysts said, adding that a large number of processing enterprises say that there is practically no margin now.
Large factories can afford to operate "in the negative" for a certain period of time, but small processing enterprises will have either to suspend operations until the price situation improves or switch to other oilseeds, they said.
