Azerbaijan Railways boosts transshipment of transit cargo 7% in Jan-Oct

BAKU. Nov 5 (Interfax) - CJSC Azerbaijan Railways transported nearly 6.268 million tonnes of cargo in transit in January-October 2024, an increase of 7% year-on-year, the company posted on social media.

Azerbaijan Railways also boosted cargo transportation in transit 14% year-on-year to 614,584 tonnes in October 2024.

The overall volume of cargo transported in transit via Azerbaijan's railways declined 8.1% year-on-year to nearly 6.871 million tonnes in 2023 from about 7.477 million tonnes in 2022.
