Kazakhstan to export 1.2 mln tonnes of oil to Germany in 2025, possibly more if requested
ASTANA. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan plans to export 1.2 million tonnes of oil to Germany in 2025, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said.
"At this point we're planning the same level as this year, 1.2 million tonnes," Satkaliyev told reporters in Astana on Thursday.
Whether exports increase will depend largely on orders from the Schwedt refinery in Germany and to what extent Kazakhstan is able to transport oil through Russia, he said.
"In general, we're prepared to increase these volumes on our part, there are suppliers who are interested in shipping oil in this direction. We will work it through with all parties. There was an announced intention from Germany to increase volumes. Concrete volumes will be determined only after we receive orders from the refinery and clear it with the Russian side," Satkaliyev said.
Kazakhstan plans to ship 1.2 million tonnes of oil to Germany this year. It exported nearly 1.1 million tonnes in 9M 2024, up from 590,000 tonnes in the same period last year.
Kazakhstan's started to ship oil to Germany via the Transneft pipeline system towards the Adamowo-Zastawa oil delivery point last year. Kazakhstan transported 993,000 tonnes towards Germany in 2023 as a whole. Karachaganak Petroleum Operating provided the oil.
Kazakhstan is open to boosting supplies to Germany's market, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has said. Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev has said Germany had asked for annual oil supplies to increase from 1.2 million tonnes to 2.5 million tonnes.
