Kiev drafts roadmap for opening Ukraine's airspace

MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Restoration Ministry has drawn up a roadmap with the U.S. embassy's support for opening Ukraine's airspace under martial law, Ukrainian media reported citing a statement of the ministry's press service.

"The Restoration Ministry with the support of the U.S. embassy in Kiev jointly with the State Aviation Service, the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise, the Air Force Command and the CEOs of international airports have presented a roadmap for opening the Ukrainian airspace under martial law," the statement said.

"Our strategic objective is to preserve aviation infrastructure and qualified personnel, so that when the time comes, we would be able to resume civil flights as quickly as possible," Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Restoration Minister Alexei Kuleba said.

This is a complicated issue, both in terms of security and interaction with all parties involved, he said.

"That is why we are supporting platforms, where we are working on a joint plan jointly with foreign industry regulators, airlines, insurance companies, airports and the military," Kuleba said.
