Wheat prices in Ukraine reach many-year high - APK-Inform

MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Insufficient supply of wheat to the market and high competition between processing and export-oriented companies are increasing wheat prices in Ukraine: the prices rose by 200-400 hryvni per tonne over the week, Ukrainian media said, citing a statement by the APK-Inform information and analytical agency.

"Millers continued to complain about a shortage of wheat, which forced them to continue raising prices. Some buyers were willing to pay higher than market prices for large volumes of quality raw materials. The corresponding dynamics in the export market also pushed the prices up," analysts noted.

Over the past week, prices for class 2 wheat rose by 200-400 hryvni per tonne, mainly within 9,300-10,500 hryvni per tonne on CPT terms, while feed wheat prices also grew and kept within 8,300-9,400 hryvni per tonne on CPT terms, APK-Inform said.
