ODK-Saturn acquires 80% stake in company developing engines for ultra-small aircraft

MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - JSC ODK-Saturn, part of Rostec's United Engine Corporation, has acquired 80% of the shares in Reynolds LLC, a company specializing in the development of gas turbine engines for ultralight aircraft.

The corresponding changes were made to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities on October 28. The founders of Reynolds, Nikita Gusev and Nikita Korolyov, each retained a 10% share. They previously held 57.5% and 42.5%, respectively.

Reynolds was registered in 2017. Its product line includes four engines: the R500 and R1 turbojets, with maximum a thrust of 55 kgf and 150 kgf, respectively, the RTF500 turbofan with a maximum thrust of 100 kgf, and the RTS500 turboshaft, which has maximum power of 95 kW, the company's website said.

The company is a resident of the Skolkovo Innovation Center. In 2018, it became the first Russian participant in the international accelerator Airbus BizLab.

It was announced in July this year that Reynolds would join ODK. The agreement was signed at the Innoprom exhibition. The deal is being implemented "to develop a range of domestic small gas turbine engines with thrust up to 200 kgf, as well as to organize their serial production for a wide range of unmanned aerial vehicles," a press release from ODK said. Gusev will remain the CEO of Reynolds after the deal, while Korolyov will continue to work with the company as its chief designer, it said.
