Russia's Red Wings Airlines launches direct flights from Samara to Sri Lanka
SAMARA. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Russia's Red Wings Airlines launched direct flights between Samara and Mattala, Sri Lanka, on October 29, the press service of Samara's Kurumoch Airport said.
The flights are scheduled for every 10 days at 8 hours per trip.
Boeing-777s will be the mode of transport for passengers according to the online board of Kurumoch Airport.
Red Wings is among Russia's largest airlines, based at Moscow's Zhukovsky and Domodedovo airports, Yekaterinburg's Koltsovo Airport, Chelyabinsk's Balandino Airport, and Makhachkala Airport. Red Wings has 20 regional Superjet 100 aircraft, three long haul Boeing-777, and two Tu-204/214 in its fleet.
Airports of Regions Management Company manages JSC Kurumoch International Airport , operating regular flights on over 20 Russian and foreign air carriers to 46 destinations.
Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport is the third busiest airport in Sri Lanka, and is located 18 km from the city of Hambantota.
