Georgian opposition demands new parliamentary election, doesn't intend to negotiate with authorities

TBILISI. Oct 28 (Interfax) - The opposition at a protest rally in Tbilisi has demanded that a new parliamentary election be held by an international electoral administration.

"This election is illegitimate, we will not be in this parliament and we refuse deputy mandates. We have a very specific demand: a new parliamentary election, which will be held by an international electoral administration," Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of the opposition party United National Movement, said at the rally.

The opposition has no intention of having any negotiations with the authorities, he said.

"The only issue we can discuss is a new election," Vashadze said.

The leaders and supporters of the Georgian opposition are rallying in front of the Georgian parliament building.

A parliamentary election was held in Georgia on October 26. It was won by the ruling party Georgian Dream, which, according to the Central Election Commission, received 54.08% of the votes.
