ASHGABAT. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree that allows the state concern Turkmenneft to sign a contract with the company MBF Group DWC-LLC (United Arab Emirates) to procure specialized equipment, the Neutral Turkmenistan paper reported on Saturday.
"To successfully achieve the tasks faced by the oil and gas sector, the president of Turkmenistan has signed a decree that allows the state concern Turkmenneft to sign a contract with the company MBF Group DWC-LLC (UAE) at its own expense for the introduction of a certain number of cementing units on vehicle chassis intended for cementing, reinforcement and complete overhauling of wells," the paper reported.
The draft decree was submitted to the president for consideration by Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov, who is in charge of the fuel and energy sector, at a government meeting on Friday.
The necessary steps are being taken to provide the state concern Turkmenneft with specialized equipment used in drilling, exploration and complete overhauling of oil wells in the country's deposits to boost the productivity of geological exploration work, Amanov said.
Berdimuhamedov said the physical infrastructure of Turkmenneft needs to be constantly improved to successfully achieve the important tasks faced by the oil and gas sector, including to increase hydrocarbon extraction volumes.
Having signed the submitted decree, the president ordered the deputy prime minister to ensure strict control over the fulfilment of the provisions of this document.
