Ukraine to join ICC on Jan 1, 2025
MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Ukraine will become the 125th member state of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on January 1, 2025.
"Deputy chief of staff of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Irina Mudraya and Ukrainian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Sergei Kislitsa have formally deposited the instrument of ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court in New York. This means Ukraine will become the 125th ICC member state on January 1, 2025," Ukrainian media said, citing the website of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Ukraine signed the Rome Statute in 2000. The parliament voted for its ratification on August 21, 2024, after which Zelensky signed the respective bill into law.
