South Korea's Doosan plans to launch manufacturing of power equipment in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. Oct 28 (Interfax) - South Korea's Doosan Enerbility plans to localize the manufacturing of power equipment in Kazakhstan, the press service of the country's Energy Ministry said, with Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev and Doosan's company representatives signing the corresponding memorandum during Satkaliyev's visit to South Korea on October 22-25.

"The parties intend to study the possibility of localizing the production of the South Korean company's power equipment by training local personnel, as well as opening the plant's representative office in Astana, as part of the signed document" the press service said.

The Energy Ministry reminds that Kazakhstan is currently collaborating with Doosan Enerbility as part of the project to construct a power plant based on a 1000-MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power unit in the Turkestan Region. Doosan Enerbility jointly with KEPCO KPS are also conducting an engineering inspection of Kazakhstan's energy complex in terms of reducing emissions and extending the service life of the plants.
