Hevel to build sixth solar farm in Astrakhan Region by 2028
ASTRAKHAN. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Hevel Group plans to build the Bolkhunskaya Solar Farm with capacity of 250 MW in Astrakhan Region in 2025-2026, the regional Industry, Trade and Energy Ministry told Interfax.
"An investment project is being implemented to build the Bogdinskaya Solar Farm with installed capacity of 60 MW in the Akhtubinsky district of Astrakhan Region. The facility is scheduled to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2024. Also, the implementation of a project to build the Bolkhunskaya Solar Farm with installed capacity of about 250 MW in 2025-2027 is being worked out," the ministry said.
The Bogdinskaya Solar Farm is being built at a cost of about 5 billion rubles by Unigreen Power LLC, a division of Unigreen Energy, which, through Ekoinnovatsii LLC, is owned by Mikhail Sivoldayev, one of the principal shareholders of Hevel Group.
Hevel divisions have already built four solar farms in the region with combined capacity of 165 MW.
Astrakhan Region is one of the leading Russian regions in alternative energy production. It has 12 solar farms with combined installed capacity of 285 MW and a wind farm with capacity of 340.2 MW. Astrakhan was ranked in the top five in the area of renewable energy in a regional investment ranking in 2023 and was named the most active region in renewable energy.
Astrakhan Region generated 1.062 billion kWh of electricity from renewable sources in the first nine months of 2024, which amounted to 38% of total power output in the region's energy system.
Hevel is the largest solar energy company in Russia. The group was founded in 2009 and, according to its website, is the only vertically integrated manufacturer of solar modules in Russia. Hevel Group has implemented over one hundred projects in Russia with a total capacity of over 1 GW.
