Armenian parliament ratifies regulations for joint work of border delimitation commissions with Azerbaijan

YEREVAN. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The Armenian parliament on Wednesday ratified regulations on the joint work of the border delimitation commissions, which was signed by Yerevan and Baku in late August.

The opposition boycotted the vote. The document was supported by MPs only from the Civil Contract ruling faction.

The regulations was approved by the Armenian government in early September, and received a positive review from the Constitutional Court.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry said earlier that regulations on the commissions' joint activities was signed in due course on August 30, 2024. Armenia and Azerbaijan have already launched the required interstate procedures.

It also said that, in accordance with the April 19, 2024 protocol of the eighth meeting of the Armenian commission on border delimitation and border security and Azerbaijan's border delimitation commission, the commissions completed the process of agreeing the regulations on their joint work.
