Russia extends export quotas for fertilizers until May 31, 2025
MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The Russian government has extended export quotas for fertilizers for the period from December 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, the government's press service reported.
The quotas will total about 19.2 million tonnes, including 11.2 million tonnes for nitrogen fertilizer and almost 8 million tonnes for compound fertilizers.
Russia introduced the non-tariff export quotas for nitrogen and compound fertilizers on December 1, 2021 as a measure to curb the growth of domestic food prices.
The total quota for the period from June 1 to November 30, 2024 was set at almost 19.8 million tonnes, including 12.5 million tonnes for nitrogen fertilizer and about 7.3 million tonnes for compound fertilizers. The quota for exports of compound fertilizers was increased by 0.3 million tonnes in October.
