Ukrenergo issues technical conditions to build distributed generation facilities for nearly 1.3 GW in Ukraine
MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - Ukrenergo has issued technical specifications for connection of distributed power generation facilities for nearly 1.3 GW, 70% of which is shunting gas-fired generation capacity, acting NEC Ukrenergo Board Chairman Alexei Brekht said.
"Ukrenergo currently has issued technical specifications for connection of distributed power generation facilities for around 1.3 GW. This is what we have actually received over the last three to four months, starting from biogas to relatively small renewable energy facilities," Ukrainian media quoted him as saying at the Energy Day 2024 industry event.
He said later that 70% of the specifications are for shunting gas-fired generation facilities, while the remaining 30% are for minor renewable energy and solar power plants.
At the same time, currently the timeframe for drawing up documents for connection has indeed been drastically cut, Brekht said. "If earlier we were talking about tens of days for preparing initial data for design, coordination of technical specifications, today it is two and two days for the operator of the transmission system and the operator of the distribution system," Brekht said.
As reported, Brekht said on October 10 that Ukrenergo expects in the power grid to have at least 600 MW of new generating capacity by the end of the year and is preparing the infrastructure for the use of floating power plants.
