New CEO of Ukrainian Railways appointed

MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has appointed Alexander Pertsovsky to the post of Ukrainian Railways CEO and dismissed three members from the company's board, Ukrainian media said citing a Ukrainian Railways statement.

"The government of Ukraine appointed Alexander Pertsovsky, nominated by the Ukrainian Railways Supervisory Board, as the company's CEO for a period of three years," the statement said.

Former Ukrainian Railways CEO Yevgeny Lyashchenko will stay on the board until his contract with the company expires. The contract with Lyashchenko was signed in March 2023 and ends in March 2025, it said.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Krot, Orest Logunov and Anton Mishin were dismissed from the Ukrainian Railways board, the statement said.

As previously reported, Lyashchenko handed in his letter of resignation in early October.

Pertsovsky was a board member and until recently headed the Passenger Company branch in charge of Ukrainian Railways' passenger department.

Pertsovsky joined Ukrainian Railways as an acting board member in October 2020. He was officially given a seat on the company's board a year later. Earlier in his career, Pertsovsky served as Ukrainian Post first deputy CEO in 2016-2020, and held senior positions in Deutsche Post DHL Group in the United States and Singapore from 2010 to 2016.

According to sources close to Ukrainian Railways, Lyashchenko will continue to oversee the company's finances as a board member.
