Russia-UAE trade triples over past 3 years - Putin

NOVO-OGARYOVO. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The bilateral trade between Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has tripled over the past three years, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"All of our agreements are being fulfilled. And they are fully meeting the level of strategic partnership. The trade has tripled over the past three years," Putin said at a meeting with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday.

"However, it has corrected downward in the first seven months of this year, and this is a matter for our conversation and for a conversation at the level of the intergovernmental commission. Nevertheless, relations are advancing in all areas," Putin added.

Mutual investment between Russia and the UAE has reached $7 billion, and around 60 projects totaling $2 billion are being implemented through sovereign funds, Putin said.
