Ukraine receives nearly $300 mln in funding from Canada on preferential terms
MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine has received nearly $300 million (CAD$400 million) of financing from Canada on preferential terms, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.
"The funds have already reached the state budget. [...] We have received $5.4 billion in direct budget support from Canadian partners since the beginning of the crisis. This is an important contribution to our stability," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on social media.
Ukraine is funding the most vital budget expenditures from these funds and thereby meeting the government's obligations to its citizens, he added.
