UK sanctions 18 Russian oil tankers, 4 LNG vessels
MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions against 18 Russian oil tankers and four liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said in a statement.
Eighteen more vessels "will be barred from UK ports and unable to access world-leading British maritime services, bringing the total number of oil tankers sanctioned to 43," it said.
These sanctions target a number of Sovcomflot tankers, including the oil tankers NS Bora, Atlas, Moskovsky Prospect, NS Arctic, Callisto, SCF Baikal, SCF Samotlor, Suvorovsky Prospect, Eastern Pearl, Kudos Stars, Sea Fidelity, Stratos Aurora, Turbo Voyager, Azure Celeste, Varuna, Sai Baba, Artemis, and Antaeus.
Four LNG vessels, including the Velikiy Novgorod, Mulan, Everest Energy and Marshal Vasilevskiy, a universal gas carrying and regasification vessel, have also been sanctioned.
