Russia's Transport Ministry, Kazakhstan discussing possibility of permitting cabotage air transportation - Starovoit
YEKATERINBURG. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Russia's Transport Ministry is negotiating with friendly countries, including Kazakhstan, regarding the possibility of permitting their respective airlines to conduct cabotage transportation, Transport Minister Roman Starovoit said.
"Yes, we are negotiating with friendly countries," Starovoit told reporters in response to a question from Interfax on the sidelines of the XI International Specialized Exhibition Road 2024 in Yekaterinburg.
"We see that the shortage in aircraft leads to a deficit amid growth in transportation in foreign countries, so it is difficult for other countries to resolve these matters. For example, we are negotiating with Kazakhstan. They have had more than 35% growth in aviation mobility this year, so colleagues are thinking," Starovoit said.
