Russia's Amur Region sees gold mine output fall 9.5% in 9M

BLAGOVESCHENSK. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Gold mine output in Amur Region totaled 14.027 tonnes in the first nine months of 2024, 1.466 tonnes or 9.5% less than in the same period last year, the regional natural resources ministry told Interfax.

Production in September alone fell by 353.3 kg year-on-year to 2.066 tonnes.

At Atlas Mining, the only mine that increased production was Albyn, which produced 277 kg of gold in the nine months, 14.9% more year-on-year. Production at the Malomyr and Pokrovsky mines fell 1.6% and 18.6%, respectively, to 3.402 tonnes and 2.385 tonnes, while output at Temi plunged by about 60% to 532 kg.

Priisk Solovyevsky increased production of hardrock gold by 3.7% to 978.7 kg, but reduced production of alluvial gold by 7.5% to 1.550 tonnes. Nordgold's Berezitovy mine produced 624 kg of gold, 6% less than a year earlier.

Production estimates for some miners may differ from the companies' own data for reasons such as possible discrepancies regarding the amount of gold in unfinished production.
