Atlas Global Energy to build wind farm in Ukraine

MOSCOW. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Atlas Global Energy, a company with Turkish investment, plans to build a new wind farm in Ukraine's Zhitomir region, Ukrainian media reported as referred to Zhitomir regional administration head Vitaly Bunechko's post on his social account.

"Met with representatives of the Turkish company Atlas Global Energy today. Discussed prospects for cooperation and the implementation of a project in the region with the company's technical director in Ukraine. We are confident that the new wind farm project will become yet another example of our productive cooperation," he said.

The Zhitomir region is home to a number of alternative energy projects, including solar, hydropower, and biofuel power plants, whose aggregate design capacity is over 240 MW, and some 60% of boiler houses in the region use alternative fuel, Bunechko said.

He described plans to build wind farms as "a logical development of this track."

Before the crisis, the Zhitomir region was ranked first in Ukraine on the Doing Business report, and none of the major investors has left it since, Bunechko said.

Atlas Global Energy introduces itself on its website as a renewable energy development company operating in Ukraine since 2016 with a portfolio of 300 MW+ wind and photovoltaic projects, including, in particular, a 60 MW wind project in the Lvov region.
