Ukraine looks forward to successfully finalizing talks to raise limit of electricity imports from EU to 2.2 GW
MOSCOW. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Ukraine looks forward to successfully finalizing negotiations on raising the limit of electricity imports from the European Union to 2.2 GW from 1.7 GW, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.
"I am thankful to international partners for their unprecedented solidarity. It is precisely owing to our friends and allies that we receive the necessary funding to repair and upgrade our power sector," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting on Tuesday.
To this end, Ukraine's partners have accumulated around 700 million euros in transferred and pledged funds in the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, he said.
"We expect this assistance to continue. After all, Ukraine's needs still remain huge," Shmygal said.
"We also expect the negotiations on increasing the limit of electricity imports from the EU to 2.2 GW from 1.7 GW to conclude successfully," he said.
