Over 3.2 mln Russian tourists visit Turkey's Antalya in Jan-Sept 2024

MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - More than 3.2 million Russian tourists visited Turkey's Antalya in January-September 2024, which is the highest indicator among foreign countries, the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) said, citing data from the Antalya culture and tourism authority.

"Russia was market number 1 in Antalya in the first nine months of this year, tourism increased by 12.1% and exceeded 3.2 million visits," the statement said.

In September 2024, 603,000 Russian tourists visited Antalya, which is a 17.2% increase from last year and more than in August. The increase in tourism in September is due to the fact that the prices in the region's hotels begin declining in this month from the summer months and tourists could thus save on their travel, ATOR said.

A total of 14 million foreign tourists visited Antalya in the first three quarters of 2024, which is eight percent more than in the same period in 2023. The top five countries for visitors, besides Russia, includes Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Kazakhstan.

A total of 2.34 million foreign tourists visited Antalya in September, which is 4.12% more than in September 2023.
