Lavrov holds consultations with pope's Ukraine peace envoy - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held consultations with Pope Francis' Ukraine peace envoy Matteo Zuppi in Moscow on Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The conversation participants discussed in detail interaction in the humanitarian sphere in the context of the Ukraine conflict and addressed a number of vital bilateral and international issues," a statement published on the ministry's website said.

The consultation participants "noted constructive development of dialogue between Russia and the Vatican," the ministry said.
