Ukrgazvydobuvannya ups gas output 6.5% in 9M
MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - Ukrgazvydobuvannya (UGV) increased gas production 6.5% year-on-year in January-September 2024 to 10.4 billion cubic meters, Ukrainian media quoted the company as saying on social media.
The company also produced 372,000 tonnes of liquid hydrocarbons, up 26% year-on-year.
UGV drilled 71 wells, commissioning 60 of them, including 17 with an initial daily flow rate of more than 100,000 cubic meters.
In addition, downhole operations were carried out at six old wells, boosting their flow rate to more than 100,000 cubic meters per day.
"One reason such results is our 3D seismic strategic thrust. We have shown in 2023-2024 that if we have state-of-the-art 3D seismic, then we will have gas. We demonstrated this at several fields that we discovered thanks to it," said Maxim Vitik, head of exploration and field development at UGV.
UGV commissioned 86 new wells, 24 of them with an initial daily flow rate of more than 100,000 cubic meters, in 2023.
UGV produced 13.224 bcm of commercial gas in 2023, up 679 mcm from 2022.
Commercial gas production rose 8.8% year-on-year in H1 2024 to 6.913 bcm.
Naftogaz of Ukraine owns 100% of UGV.
