Norwegian Defense Ministry institutes position at defense attache's office in Kiev to promote defense industry cooperation

MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - The Norwegian Defense Ministry has instituted a special position at the defense attache office in Kiev to promote cooperation between the two countries' defense industry communities, Ukrainian media said referring to Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram.

Gram encouraged Norwegian companies to invest in Ukraine. "To meet Ukraine's enormous needs, significant investment and commitment from the private sector is needed. Norwegian companies wish to share their knowledge, expertise, and solutions in both the short and long term. This is also requested by the Ukrainian side," the Forsvarets Forum publication quoted Gram as saying.

In the long term, Norwegian companies could be interested in launching production projects in Ukraine, he said.
