Pope Francis, Zelensky discuss ways to settle Ukraine conflict

ROME. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Pope Francis received Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in the Vatican on Friday to discuss possible ways of settling the Ukraine conflict, the Holy See's press service said.

In particular, the Pontiff and Zelensky discussed "the ways in which it could be brought to an end, leading to just and stable peace in the country," the press service said.

"Some matters relating to the religious life of the country were examined," it said.

Additionally, the sides addressed the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, the press service said.

According to the press service, it was the second audience given by the Pope to Zelensky in the Vatican.
