Aeroflot Group boosts passenger traffic 16.4% YoY in Sept, 18.7% in 9M
MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - Aeroflot Group boosted passenger traffic 16.4% year-on-year to 5.3 million travelers in September 2024, the company said.
The group transported 4.2 million passengers on domestic routes, up 14.4% year-on-year, and 1.1 million passengers on international routes, up 24.7% year-on-year.
Revenue passenger kilometers increased 16.7%, available seat kilometers (ASK) rose 14.6%, and the load factor grew 1.7 percentage points to 90.6%.
Aeroflot - Russian Airlines carried 2.9 million passengers in September, up 17% year-on-year, with revenue passenger kilometers rising 21%.
Aeroflot Group passenger traffic could reach over 55 million in 2024 as a whole, up 16.3% year-on-year from 47.3 million in 2023, Group CEO Sergei Alexandrovsky has said. Previous forecasts for the year had been lower at 50 million and 53 million passengers.
Aeroflot is Russia's largest airline group. It includes Aeroflot - Russian Airlines and the Pobeda and Rossiya airlines. The Russian government controls 73.8% of the group's shares, 1.2% are quasi-treasury shares, company management holds 0.0001% of the shares, and 25% are in free float on the Moscow Exchange.
