Gazprom, CNPC sign coordination agreement for contract on supplying gas via Far East route
ST. PETERSBURG. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Gazprom and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) have signed a coordination agreement, an appendix to the long-term agreement on purchasing and selling natural gas via the Far East route, Gazprom said.
The document in particular regulates interaction between the sides in the use of adjacent gas pipeline systems when supplying Russian gas to China.
Gazprom signed a long-term contract for supplying gas via the Far East route in February 2022. Once the project reaches full capacity, Russian pipeline gas supplies to China will increase by 10 billion cubic meters and will reach 48 billion cubic meters a year in total.
In November 2023, Gazprom, the CNPC and PipeChina signed an agreement regulating interaction on designing and constructing a cross-border section of a gas pipeline for supplying gas to China via the Far East route.
