Ukraine signs memorandum of cooperation with Japan's external trade organization JETRO

MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"A memorandum of cooperation with the Japan External Trade Organization JETRO was signed today. Japanese investors will be able to enhance their business relations with Ukrainian companies and choose promising projects for their investment. Introduce new approaches and technology that will contribute to the development of our economy. We expect this cooperation to yield many fruitful results," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on social media.

Ukrainian officials discussed priorities in the country's recovery at a meeting with JETRO CEO Ishiguro Norihiko, representatives of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Japanese companies, he said.

"The energy sector is among them. I thanked Japan for its assistance with equipment. I told them about the development of decentralized power generation and the development of renewable energy sources. I invited Japanese companies to join in these projects. Representatives of major Japanese companies pledged that they are willing to be involved in the reconstruction and closely cooperate with Ukrainian businesses," Shmygal said.
