Budget expenditures on civil science to grow more than 15% next year - Russian deputy science minister
MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - The Russian Science and Higher Education Ministry plans to increase expenditures on civil science by more than 15% in 2025, Russian Deputy Science and Higher Education Minister Andrei Omelchuk said.
"The expenditures on civil science will increase by more than 15% in 2025. It's unprecedented growth in the past few years," Omelchuk said at a meeting of the State Duma Science and Higher Education Committee.
The budget for 2025 and the 2026-2027 planned period also envisages about 2 billion rubles in additional funding for anti-terrorism protection and firefighting measures, he said.
Russian Science and Higher Education Minister Valery Falkov said almost 5 billion rubles will be provide for increasing the wages of university professors lecturing in fundamental disciplines.
"Along with the growing cost of education as part of modernizing the national higher education system, we directly envisage funding for increasing professors salaries," Falkov said.
