Putin by his decree expands list of Georgian citizens entering Russia without visas
MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin by his decree facilitated the procedures governing Georgian citizens' entry and departure of Russia.
Presidential Decree No. 873 of October 10 has been published on the official legal information website.
According to the document, the visa-free regime governing entry into Russia now applies to citizens of Georgia "entering the Russian Federation for work purposes or for a period of more than 90 days for temporary stay in Russia, including for education."
These categories of Georgian citizens previously did not have the right to enter and leave Russia without visas.
The decree takes effect immediately. The said categories of citizens can now visit Russia "using valid identification documents (passports of Georgian citizens, diplomatic passports, services passports, seafarers' identity documents, and travel documents for returning to Georgia)."
