Ukraine's Energoatom launches another reactor unit, finalizes 2024 maintenance campaign
MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Energoatom finalized the scheduled maintenance of another nuclear reactor unit 11 days ahead of schedule, thus completing the 2024 maintenance campaign on October 9.
"It [the reactor unit] is gaining capacity," Ukrainian media said, citing Energoatom's statement on a social network.
Completing the scheduled maintenance ahead of time is an important achievement in the provision of stable power supply in the fall-and-winter season of 2024-2025, the company said.
"Thus, nine Energoatom reactor units, operating on the Ukraine-controlled territory, are ready for work in the fall-and-winter season. All scheduled maintenance has been completed ahead of time, including a key stage of reloading fresh nuclear fuel into the reactors," the statement cited Energoatom head Pyotr Kotin as saying.
