Gazprom launches new condensate stabilization unit in Urengoy

ST. PETERSBURG. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Gazprom has launched a new condensate de-ethanization unit at the Urengoy Condensate Preparation Plant.

The launch ceremony was part of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, an Interfax correspondent reports.

The order to launch the unit was given from the St. Petersburg Gas Forum by Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller: "I give permission, go ahead."

The unit's capacity is 8 million tonnes per year.

Airat Ishmurzin, head of Gazprom Pererabotka LLC, said that following the unit's launch, the Urengoy Condensate Preparation Plant's capacity would rise to 19.5 million tonnes. The plant will be able to accept unstable condensate from the Achimov and Valanginian deposits in any proportions.

The unit will enable ever-increasing volumes of liquid hydrocarbons to be accepted for processing, including from Gazprom Neft Group upstream assets.

Located at the Urengoyskoye oil and gas condensate field, the plant is responsible for the undisrupted operation of the largest fields in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region. It carries out primary processing of unstable condensate, which is then sent to the Surgut Condensate Stabilization Plant named after V.S. Chernomyrdin, which produces petroleum products: diesel and jet fuel and LPG.
