Android apps of Russia's Kaspersky Labs no longer available on Google Play

MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax) - The apps of Kaspersky Labs are no longer available in the Google Play store.

"In line with Google's decision, our Android apps for device protection are currently unavailable in the official Google Play app store," the company said.

Kaspersky Labs said that Google's decision is based on the U.S. government's recent ban on the distribution and sale of the company's products in the United States after September 29, 2024.

"We believe Google is over-interpreting the decision of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the restrictive measures of which do not in any way ban the sale or distribution of Kaspersky Labs' products or services outside the U.S. We are discussing this situation with all interested parties," it said.
