Deputy PM Novak instructs to ensure uniformity of fuel sales on the exchange; pay attention to sufficiency of diesel fuel
MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has instructed the Energy Ministry and the Federal Anti-monopoly Service (FAS) to monitor fuel prices following the meeting on the current situation in the market for petroleum products, the terms and conditions for railway transportation and the supply of fuel to agricultural producers, according to a press release from the Russian government.
The Energy Ministry and the FAS have said that fuel prices in the retail segment remain stable, do not exceed inflation, and there is no shortage. The domestic market is fully supplied with gasoline and diesel fuel, according to the report .
"It was also instructed to ensure the regularity and uniformity of sales of gasoline and diesel fuel on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange, as well as timely delivery to customers, including by rail," the press release says.
"I ask that you pay special attention to the transition from winter to summer diesel fuel, trading in which recently began, from the point of view of its availability and the formation of prices that are affordable even for the Far East. They should not grow above inflation," Novak's words are quoted in the statement.
