Ukraine to send humanitarian aid to Czech Republic in wake of heavy floods
MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on October 7 to provide humanitarian aid to the Czech Republic hit by devastating floods, Ukrainian media said.
The document tasks the Ukrainian government with extending the assistance to the Czech Republic, but does not say exactly how much aid may be provided.
As previously reported, parts of the Czech Republic were inundated as a result of torrential rains caused by Storm Boris in mid-September. Houses were even swept away in several Czech regions on the border with Poland. The death toll from the natural disaster was estimated at eight as of September 16. Thousands were evacuated.
